Kingdom Initiative

Kingdom Initiative Jesus taught over and over that the Kingdom of God is not about brick and mortar, nor about a political or economic system, but it is about people. That is what the Kingdom Initiative is all about - people. We want to reach the least, the last, and the lost, and the Kingdom Initiative is helping provide the resources to meet this goal.

Specifically, the Kingdom Initiative is a strategy to expand the Kingdom of God in Maury County and beyond through: the expansion of our facilities, local missions partnerships, and new church ministries.

Expansion of Facilities

Through the Kingdom Initiative, we were able to build KIDS Town, our new elementary children's building. "This dedicated space for kids is a dream come true for the First Family," says Rick Blevins, Lead Pastor, Emerging Generations. "Our prayer is that God will give us the opportunity to make this an effective tool as we partner with families in the spiritual nurturing of their children."

Ministry and Missions

In addition to helping provide resources to expand the usefulness of our facilities, 10 percent of Kingdom Initiative funds are used to help support two of our church ministries and five local missions partners.

Church Ministries

Kingdom Initiative funds help support our Celebrate Recovery ministry to individuals with hurts, habits, or hang-ups. We also provide financial assistance to Cornerstone Baptist Church, our mission church.

Local Missions Partners

The following are local non-profit organizations we help through the Kingdom Initiative:
  • Pregnancy Center of Columbia - Pregnancy Center of Columbia empowers women to make an informed choice when facing an unplanned pregnancy.

  • Discipleship House - The Discipleship House provides help for women just released from jail who have no place else to go.

  • Maury Chaplain Ministries - The Maury Chaplain Ministries coordinate volunteers who go to the jail to teach Bible classes and serve as mentors.

  • Maury United Ministries (MUMs) - MUMs provides transportation for those who otherwise would not have a ride to work, doctor appointments, etc.

  • Servant's Heart - Servant's Heart is committed to sharing Christ's love by meeting the needs of the poor with clothing, furniture, etc.

How to get involved

Person by person, family by family, all are encouraged to be in prayer about their role in supporting the Kingdom Initiative. Ask: "God, what do you want me to give to the Kingdom Initiative over and above my tithes and offerings and over and above my current level of service for the future ministry of our church?"

Three Ways to Give

1. Give a cash gift.
Ask God for creative ways to give. You might consider cash from savings, tax refunds, garage sales, or an extra part-time job. Also consider reducing your expenses or deferring a major purchase as a sacrifice to God. Click here to download a list of additional creative ways to give. Involve your entire family in giving a specific amount.

2. Make a 36-month faith commitment.
The Bible teaches that spiritual maturity includes developing the habit of regular giving. Giving our tithes, the first portion of our income, shows that God really has the first place in our lives. Giving above our tithes and offerings shows a faith in God's provision. You can give far more than you thought possible when it's spread out over time.

3. Give stocks, securities or other non-cash assets.
Simply contact the church office for information on giving gifts other than cash. Our church will graciously handle these on an individual basis.
